How It Happened

Terry and I are members of the Angel City Chorale (ACC), a community choir here in L.A. We've sung together in several choirs over the years - counting church choirs, school choirs and community choirs, I think we've sung in about ten of them. This one is, by far, the best. It's very demanding, and our director, Sue Fink, works us hard. By the time each of our concerts is over, we're exhausted. But we sing wonderful music, and we sing it well, and the hard work is well worth it.

This particular season, the first half of 2018, was especially intense. In addition to preparing our regular June concert, we also auditioned for America's Got Talent (more about that in another log entry, at another time). And in May, we took a trip to New York City, to participate in a concert with the Gay Men's Chorus of New York.

I was really looking forward to this trip, for several reasons. Of course, I was excited about the concert. But going to New York is, for me, a nostalgia trip. I grew up in New Jersey until I was thirteen. My grandmother lived in New York, in lower Manhattan, and we visited her often. So I always enjoy visiting.

And that's really all there is to say by way of introductory material. Click here to start reading the trip log.
